Cause in this moment I just feel so alive....

Last weekend we went to Boone for the weekend with a few friends. Their parents have a wonderful vacation house so we had a "family slumber party." As funny as it sounds, it was awesome. Our friends Kristi & Wes have a little boy, William, who is 1 week older than Hudson. Another couple, who we just met last weekend, also went. They are friends with Kristi & Wes and have a 2 year old little girl named Addi.

First of all, let me start by staying.... boys & girls are very different! :) While our little angels were running wild & throwing toy tractors their sweet little girl sat on the floor reading a book and coloring. Seriously?! Lol. (Hudson also had a note on his daycare checksheet today.... he wrestled a boy to the ground! Dear Lord help me... lol) Saturday we packed up and went to Macado's for lunch. I always love to order the same thing there, since 2000. But much to my surprise they no longer offer pumpernickel bread! That made the sandwich! So I'm not sure if I'll stick to the same ole' thing next time. After lunch we headed to Valley Crucis Park and had a blast. Between the toy houses and slides we were all sunburnt & exhausted.

On the way home we decided the kids would eat first, then bath and bed for them. Once all 3 were down we grilled steaks and had an amazing dinner with plenty of wine flowing. This was such a good idea. Having a nice hot dinner and huge glass of wine was a reward for all of us.... The view from the house was unbelievable so we stayed out by the fire on the deck until midnight chatting and telling stories. Andrew and I miss this "adult interaction" so much. Granted we have each other to talk to we still miss our social time with friends.

Of course our child was awake at 6am on Sunday and ready to play, while everyone else slept until 9am! haha. Over all it was such a great get away and change of pace. Definitely a must again soon!
